5/13/77 Chicago Aud:

before Samson, Bobby sez something along the lines of:

"Mickey wanted me to tell y'all...I don't really understand it...but he wanted me to tell you that the first rule of Rock and Roll is--Drummers don't make house calls. (pause while the crowd tries to make sense of this) then Bob sez: "I don't get it, either."

What's up with the announcement about changing the name? Is sunstroke serenader something funny?(I'm norwegian so perhaps that's why I don't get it..) Reason why I'm asking is that I think it sounds really cool, and I'm thinking about using it in music myself. But if it's something people speaking english would relate to some bullshit, I wouldn't use it.

Firstly~ I have no idea why you would respond to a post
that is like 2 (TWO!!!) YEARS old. I happened to stumble
upon ur question because I was cleaning out my SPAM folder.

Second~ If you read the link, its all about fav banter...
nothing serious.

Third~ dont take it so serious: It was just a funny joke
Bob was making at the time, due to reason #4;

Fourth~ If you are a true Dead Head, then you would know
that the concert he was speaking at was one of the hottest
temps on record for 1972. It was in Oregon and reaching a scortching 100 degrees (Fahrenheit). And you would know
that there is a DVD around called "sunshine daydream"
documenting this show. And it is widely known that the
whole band was on a lot of LSD while they performed this
particular show.

Fifth~ I think 'The Sunstroke Serenader's" would be a
great name for a band, or project. There is no copywrite
that Im aware of from anyone; it was just a joking
statement. And there is no bad connotation connected to
it; its not some stupid American thing.

Sixth~ This is the show you're looking for:
You will find your quote on the tuning track #13
It is an increadibly famous show if you dont already know.

Seventh~ If you would like a copy of 'Sunshine Daydream' DVD
(or at least what I have of it), you can contact me at
this user name and add that YaHoo. com stuff. I can send
it provided there is an addy to send it to.

And finally, I hope this helps. peace

Actually, you really shouldn't use it. It is strictly English speaking related bullshiite and very derogatory, bigoted, hate speach; where the excessive use of hallucinogenic substances and various compounds thereof, combined with heat prostration (a condition marked by dizziness and nausea and weakness caused by depletion of body fluids and electrolytes - heat exhaustion
heat hyperpyrexia, heatstroke - collapse caused by exposure to excessive heat), rhythmically induced auditory hypoxia (phenotypically homogeneous, profound hearing impairment as shown by pure-tone audiometry and auditory brainstem responses, unexpectedly, transient evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAEs), either bilaterally or unilaterally, manifesting as extreme and overwhelming, maddeningly intense auditory neuropathy accompanied by deteriorating rational behavioral idiosyncratic manifestations); resulting in the deliberate and intense abusive and malicious character and moral malalignment and derision resulting in the psychological and physical ostracism and deliberate, complete systematic destruction, physically but primarily psychologically, of any and all nonparticipatory and especially nondancing members of a subset of any defined populace. In short, to be safe, when in doubt, as simply and concise as possible, just be kind.
